Day 2 had two very first principles motions but the Quebec case, again, is a relatively specific knowledge case. Plenty of teams seemed to be saying they thought about the case but decided it wouldn't come up, and to be fair, I would have agreed. Obviously you can argue the case from 1st principles but specific knowledge would give a team a serious advantage.
The Ransom debate however, was a great motion, and apparently my guess at Kevin as the source was a good one because he set it at some tournament a while back. It's probably the best so far - hopefully they haven't wasted their best case on the prelims.
The tax debate I adjudicated was a little painful - but that's tax!

Well, I'm off out to dinner now, so just to wish Happy New Year to all those still in UK/Eire reading this blog.
And best of luck to those I know competing at Worlds.
Ciaran, just reached the hotel. When is round 8 motion going to be released. And do you know exactly where I need to head?
Thanks
RK
You need to head to UBC, the recreation building - i suggest you grab a taxi.
